Higher Judgment

All this fuss about Al-Megrahi’s compassionate release, the political hoopla, the diplomatic brickbats tells us only one thing: the World is biased and so unforgiving.

Sure, he’s a convicted terrorist. But he’s also a person. Compassion is what sets us apart from animals. That, and also apathy.

He’s up for higher judgment now. Let him be. His days on this blessed Earth are already numbered. Once he’s gone, all we could do is pray that there won’t be another Lockerbie, another WTC, another Hiroshima. But as long as hate abounds, I fear it is a foregone conclusion.

Thought of the day: Fear is subjective, and so is opinions.
